Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 58533
Deleted texts are exported into Text format.
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:44:35 UTC
Phenomenon: 1. Open the bugdoc.odt attached. 2. Save it in the format "Text (*.txt)" 3. File > Reload You will find "Say Hhello hello world." 4. Close it. 5. Open the bugdoc.odt again. 6. Disable Edit > Changes > Show. 7. Save it in the format "Text (*.txt)" 8. File > Reload Now, you would see "Say hello world." How to prepare the bugdoc.odt: 1. Start Writer 2. Type "Hello hello world." 3. Enable Edit > Changes > Record 4. Enable Edit > Changes > Show 5. Modify the text like "Say hello world." - Insert a text "Say" at the beginning - Substitute a letter "H" with "h" - Remove a redundant word "hello" Is this kind of phenomenon - deleted texts are exported - expected?

IMO YES
Reassigned to SBA.
SBA-JW: Please proceed.
can confirm this, it also occurs in export in any other format, because you have to show the changes you have made. in text format there will not be any strikethrough or color to record this changes. i will discuss this with user-ex. this looks like it works as designed. if you disable the Show option, the text will not be visible anymore.
as discussed reassigend to fl as i showed to you, the export to any textformat (like html or txt) will keep the changes, if edit -> changes -> show is activated.
FL: Current behavior is not intended and is a bug. We had the same problem in tables after changing the structure of a table what can not be handled by redlining, because before fixing that issue changes like deletions would have been reverted. This was even worth because tables are often used to handle numbers and numbers maybe represent an amount of money.... I have set the target to OOo 3.0.
