Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 59725
Issue still not dealt with
Last modified: 2006-01-27 09:12:24 UTC
I am sorry but this issue has been submitted by numerous people and it keeps getting closed down as a duplicate of issue 24969 and never gets solved. It has been said also that this issue is a "feature" and not a "bug". This is not true as it compromises its compatability with the "other" slideshow presentation softare... Issue 24969 does not solve the main issue that is being asked about which is that "music does not play from one slide to another". This is a very common and much used feature in PP97 and must be fixed. People want to hear the music play (regardless of what type) until they assign a "stop music" (which is in your drop down menu) to one of the transitions of the slide show. At this time the music only goes for the length of time that the transition takes, not even the length of time that the slide is displayed! I hope this clears this up.
> I am sorry but this issue has been submitted by numerous people are you reffering to a specific issue number? > It has been said also that this issue is a "feature" and not a "bug". well, it's missing ability, so it isn't a bug in the code, that's why it is a missing feature > Issue 24969 does not solve the main issue that is being asked about which is > that "music does not play from one slide to another". Issue 24969 doesn't solve this issue yet, but it is the issue which is about this problem as far as I understand it: "Presentation should play a sound file over more than one slide" will solve "music does not play from one slide to another". So this issue is being dealt with or did you have another issue in mind? feel free to vote for issue 24969 and also leave a comment there of the importance it has for you maybe asking to up the priority and adjust the target milestone
While I appreciate your frustration 'crosstrax', this is certainly a duplicate of Issue 24969. As such this will be closed. Duplicate issues actually tend to hinder rather than encourage development. It is far more useful to contribute your votes and comments to a single issue, so that all this useful information is collected in one place. I will transfer the final part of your comments to i24969 for you. Also, while this is a major problem for you, it is considered an 'enhancement' simply because it is a request for an additional (very useful) feature. A 'bug' can only relate to an implemented feature which is not working correctly. Regards, Andrew *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 24969 ***
