Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 63493
mail server can't find Collabnet ATM
Last modified: 2007-02-20 04:34:00 UTC
Hello, whenever I'm sending posts to @openoffice.org aliases (lists or persons) I get the same error messages (see attachment). I am not able to determine if it comes from my mail provider or from Collabnet. It seems to have stopped for 2 days and now it started again. Let me know if you found out something. Thanks!

thanks Charles, reassigning to support Support would you be able to look into this sometime today? thanks louis
In the attached error message we find the same error message as the one Davide describes in his comment to issue 58303 from Jan 12 14:15:04 -0800 2006.
Indeed, it is the same error message (apparently) that Davide got on the 23rd of January 2006. FYI, I am attaching today's email error message. Could you please add the following domains: @laposte.net @arsaperta.com to CN's whitelist? thanks!
Created attachment 35378 [details] error message as of today. This message usually comes back to me some minutes after I sent my mail.
Hi Charles, could you add my two addresses (st at openoffice and stefan taxhet at sun) to one of the next moderation messages you send out? Additionally I would be happy to have the related full error message you receive. Thx, Stefan
Created attachment 35379 [details] full email message attached.
--> st : sure, I'll send out a message asap.
Created attachment 35402 [details] rejected message with full headers
Created attachment 35403 [details] error message as received by charles
So here is my interpretation: I received the message and could see from the headers that the MTA delivering to openoffice.org is certainly 81.255.54.11 (mx.laposte.net, aka smtp1.laposte.net). This IP address (as other MXer of laposte.net) is on several blacklists. http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/ip4r.ch?ip=81.255.54.11 Support, what we can we do that message from well behaved users of laposte.net are accepted?
We have requested our internal operations to add these 2 domains to the whitelist: @laposte.net @arsaperta.com Once done we will update you for testing if the mails are getting through. Thanks
--> asarkar, st: thanks
While laposte.net was added to the whitlist, we found out that: arsaperta.com was NOT listed in the BLACKLIST and the SPAM/VIRUS Filter record doesn't show receiving any email from that domain. We added that domain to the whitelist anyways. It would be best if the users can verify if the whitelist change is working as desired. Also, did you really want the arsaperta.com added to the whitelist and if so, why (since there should not be any bounced messages for this domain)? Thanks
Updating SWB.
hello, I tried to send a message this morning fom my laposte.net email address but it was refused because of the very same reasons (see the already attached messages). As for the arsaperta.com email address, I thought it would be worthwile putting it on the whitelist in case the same thing would happen... Thanks.
Created attachment 35505 [details] this is the error message that I received today...
Will add the arsaperta.com email address on the whitelist and will get back to you soon regarding it. Thanks, Kavitha Support operations
Hi Charles, Our operations team looked through the message headers and even though you (southerncross) reported using laposte.net as the originating site, apparently you are sending emails from 82.123.109.127, which is one of abo.wanadoo.fr hosts, which is blacklisted. We believe abo.wanadoo.fr is a big ISP in France, and that explains the high volume of SPAM and VIRUS we are receiving from them and why they are on the blacklist. If any user is using a static ip, we can put them on our whitelist. Alternatively we can have the whole subdomain of abo.wanadoo.fr on the whitelist. However, putting the whole subdomain in the whitelist will increase the # of SPAM that OO.o will receive. Can you please discuss this with Stefan and let us know? Thanks
Hi Charles Do we have any updates in this issue, awaiting your response to proceed further with this issue. Regards, Karthik Support Operations
Hello Kartik, thanks for your message. I actually switched my SMTP server, so don't bother. Thanks for your assistance!
Let's keep in mind that this kind of errors are a result of rejection by the OpenOffice.org MTA. They can be debugged by looking at the Received: header of a successfully transfered message. If neccessary we could think of using a whitelist.
