Description saxa 2006-07-21 09:22:29 UTC
Hi,
Many time ago I already noted that the filesize of an .doc file sometimes
grow without reason. I need to explain how do I noted this. I have a file in
.doc which is mainly a text file with my company data. This file in ooo-2.0.2
for example is about 11kb in size. Usualy I update the fax number in this file
and do a new quote
by changeing the name of the person and the company name. Then I add some text
sometimes a table in RTF and then I save the file. Most of the times this is in
size 11kb-16kb depends on what I put into it. After some time I see that the
file grows and becomes 30kb or 45kb , especially when I put a lot of data into
it. Now when I reuse this big file and delete everything from it and leave only
the header of my company and save it, I see that the file is no more 11kb like
it was but it remains on 30kb.
Another thing I noted in ooo-2.0.3 is that this same file if I open it (which in
ooo-2.0.2 is 11kb) and save it in ooo-2.0.3 as a .doc file results in a size of
68kb minimum. Also there I made a test by saveing an empty file in writer
ooo-2.0.2 results as 7kb in ooo-2.0.3 results in 68kb in MS word an empty file
results 20kb.
