Last modified: 2013-02-24 20:42:28 UTC
Martin, as discussed during the Program Management meeting and via mail, here is the issue to initiate legal review of the following dictionaries licenses. http://linguistico.sourceforge.net/wiki/doku.php?id=installazione_openoffice.org. What else do you need? Thx - rafaella
setting target 2.2
Davide Prina holds the copyright on the Italian dictionary and can provide you with the details you might need to close this issue in time for OOo 2.2. Just ask.
Please fill the form at external.openoffice.org, add it to this issue and reassign back to mh for review.
The requested information for both products (Dictionary and Thesaurus) follows. Reassigning back to mh. GPL -> depends on generic GPL "mere aggregation" review. reset target - will be set when #i65039# will be solved.
So why did Sun employees, based on internal discussions that the Italian community is not aware of, open a specific issue for this? It even had the same assignee, so I frankly doubt they were not aware this is part of issue 65039 (and I agree with pjanik it is). No problem, but next time you "discuss during the Program Management meeting and via mail" on this kind of topics, we would appreciate if you disclosed a bit more, so that we can understand better and be more helpful.
the review of a single GPL component and the discussion about the general aggregation of GPL'd dictionaries are (maybe unfortunatly) different (but of course related) items I deal with. For this reason I remove dependency to 65039. The good news is that I can now start this request and expect progress soon on #65039.
approved.
separate packaging of the GPL'd dictionaries should be done to make clear that we are doing aggregation here and that there is no dependency of other code.
mh: you mean separate package - like new rpm or new deb? If so, I won't do the work myself.
i think there is a lot of work to make this properly...
Has legal review for the below started?
@coni, see above has been approved a while ago. @pavel, I propose to proceed as with the other dictionaries for 2.4, for 3.0 we then will move dictionaries to separate packages.
mh: to clarify: OK to include this GNU GPL based dictionary into dictionaries/... as all other languages are included, right?
@pavel: yes
OK.
Please include direct links to thesaurus and other dict here, so I do not need to learn Italian, please ;-) Thank you.
Hey ... Italian is a wonderful language! :-) You can find link here: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Dictionaries#Italian_.28Italy.29 You need these two lines: * Italian dictionary (dizionario italiano) * Thesaurus OOo 2.x Note that the Italian thesaurus and the dictionary can have several issues each year. Ciao Davide
OK, so for spellchecker, I have changed these files in the CVS: M README_it_IT.txt M it_IT.aff M it_IT.dic For thesaurus, I added/changed these files (to match the conventions used in OOo): ? README_it_IT_thes.txt ? th_it_IT_v2.zip M dictionary.lst M makefile.mk Please verify the changes in cws dictionariesfor24.
Changed dictionary.lst according to file names of thesaurus.
Verified in CWS dictionariesfor24.
Closing.
