Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 79618
The new title page dialog is not generic enough
Last modified: 2013-02-07 21:57:00 UTC
The new title page dialog is not generic enough It assumes the only need is to have one run of special pages at the start of a document. Actual needs can be more complex: 1. several runs of special pages at document start (editorial pages followed by title pages) 2. a run of special pages at the end of the document (annexes) 3. or even a run of special pages in the middle of the document (the only need I personaly never had) The dialog should be modified to allow insertion of page runs with special formatting at any point of the document
I don't know what you mean with "new title page dialog"? How can I reach it in Writer?
It's very new, not translated yet and only present in my Fedora-Devel OpenOffice version, so I suppose it's a OOo 2.3.0 bit I found an online reference there http://blogs.linux.ie/caolan/2007/07/03/title-page-dialog-mockup/#comment-39194
Yes, I see. This is a fedora-only implementation (done by a guy of the fedora-team). This is not part of the official build, so please forward any bug reports to fedora. MRU->FL: maybe this could be a really good thing for us. Such an UI for making the page-style-handling much more conveient has been proposed in different RFE's (see issue 7065, issue 16877, issue 17203 and some others).
I'm only poking this idea around before I bother upstream with it. Nevertheless I deliberately did not set out to make an uber-dialog that can do everything :-), but a dialog that directly addresses the faq of "how to make a title page", sticking in the other stuff would really complicate things.
