after opening a new file, i go to "format > 'bullets and numbering'" and then,
the crash occurs when i select the 'position' tab.

The crash seems to be a special problem of OOo when the gtk plugin is used. We
canno reproduce the crash on our systems, so could you please try to re-create
the crash on your system and send a crash report to via the crash reprot
frontend of OOo.
There please enter your openoffice.org email address in the designated field so
that we can easily find the report in our database and fix the issue.

This is not my system, so the next time i'm at that location i'll try to
reproduce the crash and submit via the crash report system in OOo. Should be in
the next few days.

MRU->HDU/PL: can one of you both gather any information about the problem (how
to reproduce) from the provided information? The crash only seems to be
reproducible on certain Linux systems...

yes, happens only with gtk since version 2.12 . The stacktrace provided makes
this a duplicate to issue 82608.
