If my cursor is in a table cell in Writer and I click on Delete Column in the floating toolbar, the column is 
deleted - unless the doc is an imported .doc file (i.e. Word 2004) in which case the entire table is deleted.

I guess it is the same problem as tracked in issue 17245... but this is just a
guess, without having seen the doc.

I cannot imagine, that this is something different than tracked in issue 17245.
For the case I am wrong, please reopen this issue and attach a sample document.
