Description jr 2008-05-03 18:20:29 UTC
Load bugdoc
-> Arabic and georgian glyphs are not displayed.
The PDF export works, file-properties-fonts shows that "DejaVu Sans" was used.
Manually setting this font in the Office does not help. And insert-special
characters showes no arabic subset at all in DejaVu sans.

Looking in insert-special character dialog (selected font Arial) shows that
"Basic Arabic" glyphs (beginning at x060C) are displayed in OOo 2.4 but not in
BEA300_m2 on the same machine (Kubuntu 7.10)

Set keyword "regression" and target OOo 3.0.
Put ES on c/c

Linux Problem? I (WinXP) see all glyphs. OOo tells me in the character
properties, that the language is "catalan" and the font is "Arial Unicode MS".
OOo marks "Thai" and offers "Arabic (Egypt)" in the spell check guessing for the
first line.

Yes, this seems to be a Linux only problem
Comment 5 Joost Andrae 2008-05-04 10:22:47 UTC
ja->hdu: please have a look. I've seen this on her notebook. The display of the
glyphs work in 2.4 on the same machine. SBA also debugged into this but he had
no clue

Herbert, as we just saw, I can easily reproduce this on my Linux VM too.
From the font Padauk (see issue 88128), only half of the glyphs are visible in
DEV300m9.

The regression introduced by issue 85470 in CWS cairotext01 is being tracked in issue 89262
