Description norbert2 2008-09-17 18:29:59 UTC
Hi.

When trying OOo 3 beta 2 in it's portable build, I found that formulas are not
displayed correctly. The problem is that opensymbol.ttf is missing.

Solution:
Include "opensymbol.ttf" to "share/fonts/truetype/" in the OOo portable package.

(Please also have a look at issue 39713.)

@ floeff: Who is responsible for the portable OOo?
Comment 2 floeff+ooo 2008-09-17 19:31:46 UTC
That's Marko Moeller, putting him in Cc

In OpenOffice.org Portable 3 Beta 2 from http://portableapps.com opensymbol is
included (App/OpenOffice.org/share/fonts/truetype/opens____.ttf).
like it is in the non portable version.

Where did You load Your version?
Comment 4 norbert2 2008-09-18 07:53:07 UTC
You are right, there is a file
OpenOfficePortableTest\App\OpenOffice.org\Basis
3.0\share\fonts\truetype\opens___.ttf

But nevertheless portable OOo seems to not find/use it.

Formulas don't display special symbols like the square root symbol.

I'm using "OpenOffice_Portable_3_Beta2_en.paf.exe" which has 79,5 MB (83.384.881
Bytes).
Comment 5 norbert2 2008-09-18 07:57:36 UTC
Additional info:
I'm using it in a folder on my local hard drive D:, not on an USB-Stick.
Comment 6 markomlm 2008-09-18 10:56:16 UTC
OpenOffice.org Portable is not designed to use it on the Desktop, cause for
this the non portable version should be Your first choise.

This usage is not supported / recommended cause there are some problems with
long paths and path with spaces in it!

If You'll use it on the Desktop, please use a short path without any spaces
(like c:\programs\OpenOfficePortable) and all should be fine.

Comment 7 norbert2 2008-09-18 11:42:49 UTC
I have shortened my path from

D:\Programme\OpenOfficePortableTest\
to
D:\Programme\OOop\

and it is still not "fine". :-(
Comment 8 markomlm 2008-09-18 14:41:27 UTC
please send me a document for testing to markomlm[at]openoffice.org.

I'll check this.
Comment 9 norbert2 2008-09-21 13:33:40 UTC
I think a document won't help analyzing the problem. But nevertheless I will
attach one.

Verified.

The fonts directory is in the wrong subfolder.
Will be fixed for the final.

Please copy the fonts folder from OpenOffice.org\Basis\Share
to openoffice\share.

Thank You for the hint!
Comment 13 norbert2 2008-09-22 07:25:29 UTC
Yes, this works. Thank you.

Should we set a target milestone for this issue?
Comment 14 markomlm 2008-09-22 07:29:29 UTC
Target milestone for me is 3.0 final. But at the moment the portable version is
not an official built, so we need no milestone here.

Hi markomlm,

I just have downloaded
http://dfn.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/portableapps/OpenOffice_Portable_3.0_de-DE.paf.exe

It is NOT fixed there! :-(
Comment 16 markomlm 2008-10-30 21:32:27 UTC
