Description Frank Schönheit 2008-11-04 13:40:52 UTC
With the fix for issue 91310, we allowed, in database forms, image controls
which can be bound to text database columns, interpreting their content as
(possibly relative) URL to the image to be displayed.

To make full use of this feature, we should allow the same for reports in the
Sun Report Builder: When an image control (called "Graphic" in that context) is
bound to a text column, it should, upon executing the report, also interpret the
content of this column as (possibly relative) URL, this way displaying the same
images a form would display.

Question:

How would this be handled for static reports?

Especially given that with the new report wizard now using the SRB and offering
an option to create these static reports and save them not as a separate disk
file but back into the ODB file.

There is an issue requesting to refine the image handling in reports, in that
you can properly defined whether or not to link such images. Too lazy to search
for it right now :) I think your question belongs to this other topic - finally,
if you in today's SRC use an image control which you do not bind to a field, but
give it an image URL, you already have the very same problem.

This works already in a DEV300 m38.
