Description bodq 2002-12-05 08:29:08 UTC
it actually happens with 1.0.1 - english version
when I set locale to uk_UA.KOI8-U and try type in any cyrillic letters, I get
sometimg like "A[cross]|[A with ']" etc, i.e. clearly not cyrillic. If i set
locale to uk_UA.KOI8-R or uk_UA.UTF-8, it works fine. I conclude that there's no
KOI8-U encoding support.

KOI8-U is closely similar to KOI8-R which is supported indeed. KOI8-U is
RFC2319, and it has a homepage http://www.net.ua/KOI8-U/index.html

You can see list of differences from koi8-r in APPENDIX A of RFC2319, as in
ftp://ftp.lucky.net/pub/koi8-u/RFC2319.txt

additional information: from #openoffice.org@irc.openprojects.net
reals> bodq: ok, it seems the easiest approach is: a) send in the jca b) make
needed changes in sal/textenc
<reals> bodq: id should be quite simple really

uk_UA.xml to support uk_UA locale (Ukrainian)
Comment 3 bodq 2003-02-26 17:26:25 UTC
There happens to be a patch corresponding to the issue, along with
uk_UA.xml file.
Both files are (c) altLinux Team (www.altlinux.ru)

Please, take a look. The issue still hangs 3 months after submission.

Please take a look at fixed issue 3913 for the KOI8-U encoding, and
issue 3914 for the uk_UA.xml locale data file, where there were still
some issues left. Please check
i18npool/source/localedata/data/uk_UA.xml and state comments in issue
3914 if necessary, thanks.

As the original issue was with KOI8-U encoding I mark this as dupe of
3913.
