Addressing Bug 204921 an apply button was added to the Options Dialog.

Well, this addresses the need of the requester but introduces a "useless" button for those platform applications that do not need it.

The button should be optional and not enabled by default.

The use case is the following:

We want to give the user direct feedback on each action he is performing so we do apply the changes when he clicks in the dialog.

Now we have an apply button that is there and is always disabled.
