sending messages via nntp post to ooo.test.users don't appear on
news.openoffice.org.

same mix-up as in 2522? did you test netbeans?
I can't see any messages on this server in any group.

Sorry, I forgot that I had put this erroneous info into two places. 
Our ops and engineering teams continue to work on fixes; basically,
although the server is up, it needs to be connected properly with live
openoffice.org.  Until then, you won't see or be able to post any
messages.  They've been working on this today, and continue to work on
it.  I'll keep updating.

Posting to and reading from newsgroups now works.  We are still
working on getting historical messages to show up on the news server.
 That will be tracked in issue 2522.

As agreed by Louis I will close these resolved fixed support-owned issues now.
